We had a GREAT turnout last month, lets continue the momentum and local support by bringing a friend and getting even more people and businesses involved!

After Hours Social: Thursday March 7th is our first ‘Chamber After Hours Social’ It will be held at Arthur’s Restaurant at the Eagle Point Golf Course from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. It’s an opportunity for business owners to network and get to know other business owners in the Upper Rogue, to put a face to the name. The invite is also extended to those that are not current chamber members, and other groups and organizations such as the Upper Rogue Rotary, Lions etc. The only business that will take place is the business of making better friends and business associates. So make plans on showing up, saying hi and playing a part. For more information on the event click here..

Important!!! On Line Reviews:   With tourist season just around the corner it’s important for us to look at how we can help businesses that rely on and enjoy the support of visitors to our wonderful community. Many the will be traveling on hwy 62 this spring and summer will make decisions on where they sleep, eat and destinations to visit and tour via online reviews. Like it or not Smart phone users base many of the decisions through ‘word of mouth’ on-line reviews posted on, Google PlacesYelp,Yahoo Local etc.  You can have a great impact on our local economy by writing reviews for some of your favorite local businesses like: Cakery Kisses, Butte Creek Mill, Sensational Sweets, Agate Ridge, Crater Lake Cellars, Rogue River Lodge, Prospect Inn, Brookside Inn, Alpacas at Lone Ranch, Eagle Point Golf Club, Arthur’s, Edgewater, Rogue River RV Park, Union Creek Resort. I encourage you to MAKE some time and write some reviews on businesses and destinations that you feel people should stop on their visit to or passing through Southern Oregon. Writing a review is a great way to pay-it-forward to our local businesses and local economy and it’s amazing the power of reviews and what they can do!

Vintage Faire:   We are in the process of gathering volunteers for the event.  The event takes place on Saturday May 11th.  We’re in need of volunteers to help with the “Save the Date” campaign to vendors, volunteers to help map out the 2013 event, volunteers for the day before to help with some hay bails and set up of some of the venues, volunteers for the day of that can act as designated information.

Volunteers for the day of the event will have special 2013 Vintage Faire t-shirts to recognize to the visitors that they are part of the event and can help with information.  We’re also looking for businesses that can help with sponsorship’s.  If interested or would like some more information, click on the link here for our one-sheet or contact Mike Frey at eaglepointupperrogue@gmail.com.

Chamber Gift Certificate Drawing:   The chamber is currently rounding up gift certificates form local businesses for a fundraiser drawing.  At this current time we have quickly raised over $500 in less than a week from businesses like, The Butcher Shop, My Circle K, Eagle Point Golf Course, Cascade Community Pool.  Minimum donation is a $25 gift certificate.

We’ll be collecting the donations between now and the end of March, then begin to sell drawing tickets for the large prize.  The drawing will be held Saturday May 11th at the Vintage Faire.  If your a business that would like to help but a gift certificate doesn’t make sense, buy a gift certificate from a chamber owned business and donate it.
